WRECK IN WHICH ONE DIED: Scattered wreckage of a New York Central freight train which piled up at the local station at 11:10 a.m. today is shown above. At the left is the steaming locomotive lying on it side and to the right are freight cars, torn from their wheel-trucks and emptied of their loads by the impact. A man riding behind the engine was killed and burned in the wreck.

RIPPED RAILS AND RUINED CARS: The character of the freight wreck at the Michigan Central station this morning is graphically shown in this photograph. The steaming engine lying on its side; the cards lifted from their carriages and the rails thrown completely away from the track. The passenger station was not damaged.
