Description

This exhibit consists of twenty-two artworks by thirty individual and collaborating artists. It features a variety of media such as inks and acrylic. In addition, several unusual techniques are employed, including a painting and mixed media technique with artist tissue paper, watercolor, oil pastels and collage. The summer theme and collection of images making up “Stripes, Spheres, Skies & Splashes of Color” was inspired by the shapes and colors of nature in the summer months. A lot of these images started with basic shapes and were enhanced by the feelings of summer time.

These original pieces of artwork were created by men and women living well with memory loss who participate in the University of Michigan Silver Club programs: Coffee House, Elderberry Club & the Silver Club Day Enrichment Program. The mission of the Silver Club programs is to build a community where people with memory loss make friends, share joys and fears, be creative and have fun through meaningful adult-focused engaging activities.
