Mindfulness Instructor Grace Helms Kotre will read the picture book Skin Again by bell hooks and lead a brief discussion about how and why skin color varies.

Children will be invited to explore objects that match their own skin tone and create a self portrait with fun craft materials.

Parent resources on discussing race with young children will be provided.

Bunraku Puppet Making for Kids

Make a giant paper puppet in the Japanese tradition of Bunraku! We'll learn about this art form and then make our own puppets that can be controlled by three people at once. This workshop will take the entire time.
