Join us for an evening of sewing.

We will have our lab's machines set up and staff will be on hand to show you the basics. You can bring a project you've been working on, or just stop by to practice your stitches.

We welcome all skill levels. No prior knowledge is necessary. You are free to bring your own sewing machine and join our growing sewing community.

Homemade Face Masks and Scrubs with Hannah Butler

Enjoy an evening of skincare as a means of self-care. Learn the basic steps to create a personal skincare regimen for your skin type with natural ingredients. Everyone will receive recipe cards and create a facial mask to take home. Supplies and ingredients will be provided.

A makeup artist with over 10 years' experience, Hannah attributes her expertise to the thousands of faces, countless hours, and vast training she's had in skincare and makeup. Using thoughtful questioning, she learns about a client’s style and helps them look and feel their best.

Be the Change: Stories and Crafts for First Steps in Social Justice

Mindfulness Instructor Grace Helms Kotre will read the picture book Skin Again by bell hooks and lead a brief discussion about how and why skin color varies.

Children will be invited to explore objects that match their own skin tone and create a self portrait with fun craft materials.

Parent resources on discussing race with young children will be provided.

Felt Ball Fun!

Local crafter Beth Battey leads this hands-on workshop.

Start with colorful wool roving, add warm water, a little soap, and some patience to get a fun felt ball! Felt balls can be toys for kids and pets, jewelry, a garland or a fun decoration.
